David is a trained wildlife biologist and conservation professional who worked for 35 years with the National Park Service and consulted internationally on protecting parks and nature reserves. Although he is now retired, he remains an active and keen documentarian, recording his surroundings through observation, engaging in citizen science activities, and photography. While his early photographs were nature focused, he has become increasingly inspired by the light, shapes, stories and complexities that he sees in our human-built environment. Through his photographs, David attempts to document the beauty and mystery of the people, culture, and nature of where he has lived and the places he has visited.
